Sara Daykin
Sara Daykin, DNP, MSN, RN, CPEN, TCRN, CNEcl, FAEN, is an assistant professor of nursing and nationally engaged emergency nurse leader with extensive experience in rural and academic emergency care. She serves as Vice Chair of the New Mexico Board of Nursing Education Advisory Committee and is President of the New Mexico Emergency Nurses Association chapter, where she advocates for evidence-based practice, professional development, and pediatric readiness initiatives.
Dr. Daykin has presented at regional, national and international conferences on topics including pediatric emergency readiness, rural emergency care, clinical judgment development, and practical nursing interventions that improve patient outcomes. Her work emphasizes system-level improvement, interprofessional collaboration, and translating frontline emergency experience into academic excellence. A passionate educator and mentor, she prepares future nurses to confidently manage high-risk, high-stakes clinical situations across diverse emergency care settings.
